Whispering Hope

The life and times of my daughter, Stephanie Hope. Stephanie came to us in May of 2005 and her adoption was finalized in October of 2006. She is 16 years old and struggles with Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stess Disorder as a result of a lifetime of abuse and neglect.

Happy Happy Birthday, Baby

Yesterday was Stephanie's 15th birthday. Wednesday night we went out for dessert after church with my parents and siblings. My sister and brother got her a 20Q game, a wallet, some perfume that she likes, and hair accessories; Katie got her a very pretty necklace with a charm that says HOPE on it; and my parents got her a gift card to Old Navy. Joe and I got her a new back-pack style bat bag for softball, some little things like stickers and potted flowers for her room, a silver ring that says I (heart) softball and the handbook to study for her lerner's permit.

We are headed out today to spend that Old Navy card before it burns a hole in her pocket (and since there is no tax on clothing this weekend).
