Whispering Hope

The life and times of my daughter, Stephanie Hope. Stephanie came to us in May of 2005 and her adoption was finalized in October of 2006. She is 16 years old and struggles with Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stess Disorder as a result of a lifetime of abuse and neglect.

Saturday in the Park

Three games today as part of a pre-season tournament.

9AM - lost (3-1)

1:30 PM - won (4-1)

6PM - won (9-1)

Steph took a tough shot from the pitcher just above her left elbow. Even now, three hours later you can se the marks from the stitches on the ball. She held up like a trooper on the field, but lost it when she came in and got to me. I patted her hed and kissed it better and she cried and then she felt a lot better.

Softball

Stephanie has begun playing softball on a local "select" team. Despite never having played before, she is doing quite well. I hope this is something that will help to keep her on the right track. These pictures were taken at two practice games last weekend.

Mamasource advice

We've had another round of lousy attitude and behavior - I really thought we were getting past it.

I've already written about it at length on mamasource.com (a great place to get advice from other moms) so I am not going to go into all that again, but here is a link to it.
